A civil or commercial claim is not strengthened by the number of files sent, but by a clear remedy, a coherent chronology and a reliable document or item of evidence for each material fact.
Organise the claim in four parts
Identify the parties, obligation, breach and final remedy. Then prepare a schedule of sums showing the basis, date and supporting record for each amount.

- Invoices and statements
- Payment or non-payment evidence
- Notices and correspondence
- Any earlier settlement or acknowledgement
Deadlines and jurisdiction
A claim can be affected by deadlines, procedure and a jurisdiction, arbitration or settlement clause. Seek review promptly when a notice, hearing, contractual deadline or enforcement step exists.
Initial assessment
An initial assessment considers the documents, correct party, available remedy, evidential and enforcement risks, and negotiation or procedural options. Reviewing a file does not guarantee judgment or recovery.
