Do not wait for a dispute to escalate before seeking legal advice in Ajman, particularly when an agreement, notice, hearing or short deadline exists. Early document preparation makes the assessment clearer.
Questions before engagement
Ask about experience relevant to the matter, who will handle it, what the scope includes and excludes, and how fees and expenses are calculated.
Request written terms covering scope, fees and communication. Do not rely on promises of outcome or broad marketing descriptions.
- Has the firm handled this type of matter?
- What is needed for an initial assessment?
- What are the scope, fees and expenses?
- How and when will updates be provided?
Prepare a concise file
Arrange the facts chronologically, identify the parties and capacities, state the authority and nearest deadline, then attach only the key documents. This helps a lawyer understand the matter without reconstructing it from scattered messages.
Location is not the only factor
The competent authority, applicable law or licence may be more important than office proximity. Discuss the location of proceedings, communication language and in-person or remote meetings at the outset.
